We are researchers, educators, and public servants in UAW united to build a stronger UC. Earlier this year, we came together to win a strong contracts to increase retention of the workers who carry out UC’s mission. Now we are organizing to enforce our contracts and advance the California Science and Health Research Bond Act (SB 895), a bill which would place a $23 billion bond measure for scientific research on the ballot this November.

SUPPORT SCIENCE, RESEARCH, AND UC JOBS

Earlier this year, union members worked with legislators to draft the California Science and Health Research Bond Act (SB 895), a bill which would place a $23 billion bond measure for scientific research on the ballot this November. As SB 895 begins to progress through the California legislature, now is the most critical time for UC employees to stand together and show mass support for the bill. Add your name to the petition to support the California Science Bond Act!

On May 4th, thousands of UC employees will be heading to Sacramento to deliver our petition supporting SB 895 and hold a rally with UAW president Shawn Fain and UC President James B. Milliken. If you are able to attend the rally in Sacramento, make sure to RSVP when you sign the petition in order to reserve your seat on the union buses being arranged from campus. And no matter where you are, invite your colleagues to sign the petition to help advance the #1 legislative priority shared by our union as well as UC leadership.

Hear from SSAPs, RPSPs, and ASEs about the issues we’re fighting for!
